APPROVED!

The girls "sale" my paperwork to the boss, this morning. And the result was pretty optimistic. There are however one teeny changes. Initially, I was skeptic about the idea of giving complimentary stay for that night considering the economy of the hotel (hello apa sales f/o kalau bagi free?). So without contest (veto lah sangat!), I go for special rate for the staff. Without consulting me the girls pitch the free room idea (never before accepted) and miracle or not the boss agreed. Just to make sure they were not joking, I double check the paperwork again. And there it is... Though small, but good enough for us to carry on the Annual Dinner. Counting the days, we have only two weeks to materialise everything in that blue paper! Do we have enough time? Can it be done? We will never know until we're there! Oh yeah!

I Love You, But I Don't Fall In Love With You

Phew! Guess who I've just met today? Ahhhh... Thats sound like we've bumped into each other. While the truth was they had come for some practical. So there I was at the restaurant typing away my paperwork, trying to be as oblivious of my surrounding as possible. Or was it? Naaahhhh... I caught myself silly glancing at that innocent face. There was no spark, indeed, but it is still the same eyes that shy away once we locked our gazes. I would like to be friendly with you, but instead I mumbled. (=.=)" If I could swish and flick, I would like to disappear that instant. But I can't. The show must go on. Thank God the visit was just for a day. Who knows what might happen if it goes on for another two months (more)? I'll be damn, of course! Never mind. The most important thing, tomorrow I can act normal again. Huhuhu... The date of the annual dinner has been moved forward to 16th August. Which is okay. But then, I remember, I have to invite you as well. Damn it!

Bazaar & Back to Work

This is the first time I frequent Bazaar since 2006. The must item for me at Bazaar is Air tebu! It usually comes in a convenient 1 liter (RM 5.00) or 250 ml (RM 2.00) mineral water container. Freshly squeeze, perfect to quench your thirst! Best served cool, some say. Believe or not, this year I crave for beef. Anything really, from Burger to Steak. Quiet unusual for me. So before I found myself in jeans too tight in the waist I decided to get myself BCAA supplement. BCAA is good for cell growth, muscle maintenance and tissue repair. All meats contain BCAAs. Red meat like beef, provides the most so I read. No wonder why I crave for Beef. Tomorrow I'll be dragging my two feet back to work. Its the end of holiday for me before the actual holiday ever begin. I'm saying this because I'll be working on the first week of raya. (T_T) Even so, life is GOOD! Gotta do something special that first morning of 1st Syawal. Come to think of that... Yeah, maybe. We'll see...

Mermaid: Exist or Not?

Life is full of wonders and stories. One could simply fantasize, having heard stories how a sailorman was drown and saved by humanoid with a torso of a beautiful woman but down to waist a fish tail. Wouldn't it be great if I were the sailorman? It is not a surprise that at one point in my life, I entertained the idea that Mermaid might exist. This one documentary offers such possibility. But don't raise your hope just yet. Hear me first. The documentary presented a theory how the Mermaid came into being. They dramatized a bit, which is so uncool, taken liberty in the name of creativity. But what I couldn't accept is the idea that Mermaid was evolved from a primitive form of human, almost ape-like that adapted to the marine life, many thousands years ago. A Gorilla turn into a whale. Try to imagine that! Very funny. They also bold enough to suggest that Mermaid co-exist side by side with Dolphins. Dolphin is after all not as intelligent as we thought before. Mermaid might ha...

Three Obsessions of My Life

Ancient Egyptian Civilization has always fascinated me even as a kid. One particular topic that lead me to library and online forums is "The Pharaoh of Moses". There are many theories pointing Moses to certain Pharaoh but I inclined to accept this one theory by Maurice Bucaille. According to his theory, based on his Biblical and Quranic study, Pharaoh of Moses was not one but TWO. Controversial as it may sound, most historian agreed that Moses was born during the reign of Ramses The Great who then succeeded by his son, Merenptah. It was at the time of Merenptah that Moses return from Canaan to freed his people and the chase scenes took place. If we put it correctly then Merenptah is the Pharaoh of Exodus. Equally time consuming to research around was the topic whether Isa as was crucified or not. Not death still up there waiting for the right time to come down or what exactly? Translation could be tweak based on popular belief supported by some Hadiths that unfortunately has ...

The Wakaka Day of My Life

Just got back home from work after iftar and a few laugh. I brought everything back, tapau and so on, but not my little bag. That little black bag bought by Atica. I called office and please find my little black bag? Anon! They couldn't find it. I was aghast! *muka kuyak* I would definitely find it if it was hidden somewhere, but that could mean this Saturday. I'm off for four days. Four consecutive days! *Saya cuti!* Nothing much in the bag, really. Just some mobile toiletries and obviously a charger, that actually alerted me that I terribly forgotten my bag. Now my handphone is critically low. Only 4% left power. I have no choice but to switch off my handphone. Would I be needing a new charger then? Apparently so. Oh my! My wallet? Where's my wallet?

"Adek berapa harga ni?"

I saw GECKO! became our catchphrase. But that's not the end of it. Raimie, Nurul & me at Upperstar, Segama. Once we've done getting what we want for Iftar, we went to the nearby G*Mart to get some Soy Milk. My favourite brand is Yeo's SoyRich. While picking one box of Yeo's SoyRich a man came after me... "Adek berapa harga ni?", he asked seriously. Perplexed, I quickly replied, "Sorry, saya tidak kerja sini..."  Witnessing the incident friends started laughing at me. I was so embarrased. Then did  I realised I was still in my hotel uniform with my nametag still on. Did I just parade the whole Sabindo Bazaar with my nametag on? Yay! This is so GECKO!

"I saw Gecko, very BIG!!!"

..., he said animatedly mimicking the reptile ability to stick itself on wall and ceiling. In attempt to convince me, he draw me the following sketch... The sketch that was later dubbed as "Running Gecko" I know what gecko is you silly... What I can tell you that our hotel, to my knowledge, is mainly populated by house lizard but not Gecko. The guest from China wouldn't hear it. "We would like to check out now!" As the result two more reservations were cancelled. It was funny then, but not anymore now.

Some Other Times, Perhaps.

I totally went ballistic today! I'm afraid I might shouted, as well. I tell you why. I already cancelled my trip to Miri. As I mentioned in previous post, I received new staff yesterday. For some reason, desperate more appropriate, they gave me an inexperience one. I don't think, two days would be enough training an ex-kitchen helper... If something went wrong? Who got the blame? Me isn't it? Now some buffoon asked me to sacrifice more of my precious time. Can you imagined how frustrated I was at that moment? Like I don't want to go to Miri anymore... Damn! Fine! I'll postponed my trip. I have a friend visiting at the end of September. Worst comes to worse, later this year. October or November is the most likely candidate.

The Twilight Samurai

I enjoyed watching this movie. I could only have a chance to watch it today. Seibei a widower with two young daughters and a senile mother, was rather complacent with his life. He was happy raising his two children although talented but expect nothing of raise, promotion or better things. Judging by this his bestfriend thought him as weird. The only thing that seems never stop from becoming reality is his dream to marry his childhood friend Tomoe. There this one scene that touch my heart. While Seibei completing his piecework, his eldest daughter asked him. His daugther said she could make money by making kimono if she learnt needlework. Then what is there any good learning classics? Here Seibei, though little hesitant give the winning answer. Only through learned mind that one can changed the world, Seibei answered (or something to the effect). Immediately after that both father and daughter continue memorizing classic work. Imagined me as a father answering this simple question. How ...
