I'm Resolved

I had an interview last Monday. While I think I had my worst yet performance in an interview, everyone seems to think I'll get the job. I have my own reasons to believe otherwise. First of all, the interviewer were too helpful (how to put it "too nice") and secondly I'm not in the least showed any hunger to fill the post. You guys probably have seen a person like that. Doesn't seem to care. Doesn't seem to be bothered with any questions. I don't know why. Maybe in my mind, I'm already resolved. Maybe even before I passed my resume to Nora. If you read this, Mark, I'm very very sorry. I know you want me to do better. Its, just 4 star hotel isn't my thing. The day before the interview, Front Office received five practical students. I never been so delighted to hear this in the whole time I'm working at Walai. Unlike before, now I have a reason to stay. I'm first and foremost, a coach, a trainer. To be back as a trainer for hospitality is ...

Is Good Time Finally Over?

Monkey and Xmas tree, as Nora put it. My first time decorating Xmas Tree... I missed those moments and wish I could make that tree stood a little straighter... LOL! Days getting busier and I started to feel like I'm in auto-mode. In the midst of JPK inspections for SLDC, as I was named as lecturer along with Sammy, MG called insisting for an interview. With my very little experience in Tourism & Hospitality (just as in teaching them) they can't be wanting me that bad! I don't have any proper escape from routine life in Walai. I must say this is like a life saving moment. Should I take it? Or leave it?

I'm not being modest, just selfish.

Do I really looked that good? Na'ah!!! If I were allowed to rate myself, I would say I were just below average. Somewhere between 3 or 4 out of 10 any day (2 in my bad hair day). You'd probably disagree with me. Can't blame you though. But my point here looks isn't my best faculty. I'm not being modest or anything, just brutally honest. Forget about the thing called "beauty is in the eye of beholder". I'm more than what you can perceived physically. Or maybe I'm just simply beyond your comprehension. Sorry if we have to part this way. Goodbye is more than inevitable (^.^)

Durian White Coffee

Seriously, have you guys tried this one? Yesterday, a supplier had a visit to our hotel and gave us a free sample of this new product. It was quite good actually particularly its durian fragrance once a hot boiled water poured into the premix coffee that seemed to fill the room in instant. Not sure if its already available in store here in Sabah yet. The label said it was manufactured by Ultra Health Sdn Bhd in Penang. This remind me of a Swiss Roll given to me maybe about two years ago by a secret admirer... (^_^)\/ Imagined having this delicious rich-filled durian's swiss rolls served with mouth watering hot coffee in Durian flavour, on any Sunday afternoon.... Ahhhhh.... Just the thought of it could de-stress me.

Room 310, Woodpecker Lodge, Kuching.

I shaved! No-no. Such a shame, the time flies too fast when you enjoy the moment. I wish I could stay another night. I didn't properly photographed the room I stayed. So, sad. As you can expect, I apologise, the quality is a little bit shoddy. 310 Single Bed... Thats my room! That's the map to my room. It has large windows and nice view too. There's only two access point working at the time. You'd better asked the receptionist for that info! I should have taken the picture earlier... But yeah! A bit messy eh? Like every where else I go, its hard for me to fall asleep at the first night. Here in Woodpecker Logde is no exception. Its kinda helped too that they give me the room further away up (at level 3). So I don't actually have to put up with the noise the local pub and restaurant below is making esp at night. Not to mention the work in progress at the river bank. Phewww!!! That's my bags and two boxes of kek lapis The room are equipped wi...

The Other Half of My Third Day

I cancelled my trip to The Spring. My headache returning. I took a nap in the afternoon. In hope the headache will gone. Thank You Dr Alizam! Mohammad Lim's Rice Chicken Chop. RM 5.00nett. I had my lunch at Mohammad Lim's. I might tried their Mee Kolok, but I think its a must that I ate Nasi or facing another Headache. Unlike the handmade mushroom chicken noodles, Mohammad Lim's signature dish, this one is not up to my expectation. However, its still worth a try though. Guess, what shop is this? Nearby Ting's Cafe there was a shop with supercool facade that reminded me of Batman. Can you guess what is the shop selling? Kuching, Waterfront. I sauntered along Kuching, Waterfront. Taking the moment up by steps that I made. All the same time enjoying the gentle breeze.  The name says it all... My destination will be Kuching Waterfront Bazaar. I had a visit to the Bazaar the other day, to look around. Today I might bought something for souveni...

The Spring or ke Seberang?

How about growing a mustache? I was in dilemma this morning. But thank you to Adhie, his helpful suggestion made me go for Seberang. In other word, Kek Lapis. Fee: RM 0.50nett My first trip on Sampan to other side of river was wonderful if not memorable. Perfect timing too as it was cloudy and calm. I shared the boat with some other 'tourists' who claimed they will be leaving today for election tomorrow when they were asked why they were here. We giggled at the not so honest answer. Ah... Dejavu! I let the others lead the way... While I snapped pictures here and there making sure I got all the best shot for memories. As it happen, the way to Kek Lapis haven was on the right. So here I come! Dayang Salhah's Kek Lapis... Didie & Linda recommended this shop. I bought three Kek Lapis: cheese, blueberry and the other one I don't remember now. I don't dwell for long. Took what I want without tasting then paid the bill: RM 40. I left immediately ...

Day Two: JJCM

My plan for the Day Two was going around, sampling some mouth-watering dishes around Kuching particularly the one suggested by Adhie (now in Mukah). Mohamad Lim's Handmade Mushroom Chicken Noodles. RM 5.00nett The night before, Adhie mentioned about this dish. Since this was the nearest one I promised to find the place. The stall serving this dish could be found just behind the Riverside Shopping Complex inside Ting's Cafe. If you are not familiar with chopsticks, you can asked for other cutlery. But not me! I must have looked rather awkward with chopsticks cuz the girls next table giggling. Madam Tang's Laksa Sarawak (Medium). RM 8.50nett Next, I'm heading to Plaza Merdeka to try my next dish. I must say, the taste was well balance and seemed to stay with my mouth quite awhile after that. I should have asked for the large one! But then I forgot I have lunch date with Jeffery. Done with my shopping there (for my supplement as usual) I went Waterfront's ...

Sepuluh Cun

Good Morning Kuching! The view from my hotel room Once again I got a taxi driver who don't know the way to my hotel. If its not because of my headache, yeah I suddenly had it yesterday, I had nothing to complain. Being lost while still inside a limousine, even half an hour, only meant that I got free tour of bandar Kuching. Entrance to Woodpecker Lodge. Thank God the weather is okay! Back then in KK, it was raining all morning. Looking rather grim... Having headache on my first night was not in the plan. Even so, I tried my best to cheer myself up. Riverside Shopping Complex was just about 5 minutes walk. I think I can managed that I thought. Then I'll go as high as Lotus...But human mind is wonderful... If you say you can, it will stretch your legs to move forward. I snapped few pictures to prove my point. It was a beautiful night As I enjoyed the view at leisurely pace, a friend back then in University, Jeffry contacted me. He lived at Kota Samarahan...

Smile Ain't Hurt

Fakey, fakey. Its a start of my holiday. I start feeling more like me. Moody and uncooperative. Depleted from all desires but sleep, I reminded myself again and again there's only one more day before I'm flying to Kuching. The prospect that I'm going to be alone this trip seems very likely. Up to now, only a few handful friends who lived in Kuching knows about it. It would be nice to see them let say for a drink, but I honestly prefer my nights in Kuching to be with me and myself. Nobody else. So how I'm going to spend my time there? Everyone asked for Kek Lapis. Naturally, Waterfront Kuching. But I also have Lotus at Riverside in mind. Which ever first... I'll be there! Happy Labour Day!
