I'm a fan of Oh-Oku. So when I found out there was another drama (then movie sequel to the 2010) was shown, I went crazy... Its available on DVD but not in the shop nearby. So my only hope was Ebay.
The price was a bit expensive but at least Ebay did not disappoint me.
The whole plot was more like Oh-Oku: Daisho except in reversed gender role. While Daisho was based on true events Tanjou was fictional based on Fumi Yoshinaga's best selling mangga.
It was interesting to watch how Kasuga no Tsubone character depicted in Tanjou.
In Tanjou, the cunning Kasuga no Tsubone, was no less evil if not more as in Daisho. Perhaps due to over simplification sometimes you couldn't relate to the "Peace No War" the lady was claiming to be doing. As if, as you watched the series went on, her only drive was to ensure the Lady Shogun produce an heir: a male one if possible.
Wasn't that boring?
However in Daisho, the Kasuga no Tsubone character was more dynamic, evolved in each episodes and has more motivations than just protecting the Shogun lineage.
By the way, I have three more episodes to go from a total 10 episodes. In mean time, enjoy your Tuesday!
